Artichoke Dip

~Back to Recipes~

This is the same recipe I use but I 'borrowed' this one from Good Eating Recipes.

In the past I've spent hours going through recipes looking for that perfect appetizer or snack. But I always seemed to fall back on the same recipe, one a friend gave me years ago, and it's become one of my favorites.

This is simple, easy to put together, and it doesn't take much time at all. The only problem is that it tastes so good I often eat it all before my guests arrive.

This recipe’s main ingredient is the bud of a flower of a plant that we all know, the artichoke. Now of course the artichoke isn't something that we commonly grow in our flowerbeds at home. But we can certainly enjoy its delicious flavor.

Virtually all of the artichokes grown in this country come from California's central coast and seeing fields of these plants growing is a sight to see. Even though fresh artichokes are hard to beat, canned ones are readily available at the grocery store. And I think are actually better for this recipe.

ARTICHOKE RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans artichoke hearts, drained
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup freshly shredded Parmesan or Romano cheese

To put this together, quarter the artichoke hearts and mix them with the mayonnaise and the shredded cheese. Put in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

That’s it!

Now the aroma of this dip is outstanding. It’s so amazing to me that three basic ingredients can come together to make such a delicious treat. I find it's best served warm with my favorite cracker.

Now the next time you have guests coming over whether they are friends or relatives you might try this simple recipe. It will save you some time in the kitchen.
